In part two of our series, we continue looking at conversations with an admissions committee member, which can be stressful. Based on our years of experience, we have learned that if you avoid these comments you’re more assured of success. (Refer to our previous blog for numbers 1-9!)

10. Are there tutors available for quant classes?
11. Can students have part-time jobs during school?
12. Is the tuition deposit refundable if an admit changes plans?
13. Would it help my chances if I make a donation to the school?
14. What do you look for when doing a background check?
15. Do you ever contact recommenders?
16. Please meet my my mom and dad.
17. Do you think I’ll get admitted?

So, now that you have a sense of what not to say or ask, it’s time to focus on what you should feature in conversations with admissions officers. In general, comments and questions should showcase key strengths of the MBA candidacy. If you’d like our perspective on your strengths, please request a free, expert evaluation of your MBA profile. Our feedback could come in very handy the next time you’re face-to-face with an adcom!
