Another point that distinguishes Tuck at Dartmouth is the fact that all full-time faculty teach in the MBA program. The curriculum is closely integrated from course to course and refreshed by insights from visiting business leaders and a particularly active alumni group. Tuck administrators and faculty know all too well that their rural New Hampshire location is not mainstream, so they strive to bring the world to campus.

This program features a combination of lecture and case-based learning – there is no single approach taken. At 31 weeks, Tuck’s general management core for first-year students is longer than most MBA programs, but there is also the flexibility to focus on specific areas of interest through elective classes, group projects, joint degrees, an international field study and independent investigation. Tuck takes a backseat to no other MBA program in the scope and richness of its curriculum.

Through the Tuck Global Consultancy course (sponsored by the Center for International Business) in the second year, students have the opportunity to put their classroom education into practice, learning how to operate in new environments and cultures—a prerequisite for success in a globalized economy.

Tuck boasts, and rightfully so, of intense camaraderie sparked through study groups, interaction with faculty and alumni, and immersion in a surprisingly diverse community. Chief among teaching methods at Tuck—and consistent with the school’s philosophy of collaboration—are team projects. There are no “pigeon holes” at Tuck.

Away from school, life here is rich in opportunity, vitality, and natural beauty (skiing and spending time in the mountains, in particular). In fact, if you don’t think the great outdoors are so great, this may not be the place for you.
